Derek Versus Life

So I started working on 'Derek Versus Life' - my cartoon show about a kid who is a complete loser. Finally, a show about real children. But I hit a real wall.

I couldn't decide if life was this place full of scary, hateful people, paranoia, media lies, greed, death and pain...

Or just completely devoid of anything.

What do you think?

Maybe life is full of lots of things that don't mean anything. Is that an option?

be sure to make him stupid as real children, none of this peanuts smart 8 year olds crap.

Well I think most people would relate to the first option (I know I do), but that means it is probably the most obvious to pick. If you can think of a way to apprach the second one well, I would tackle that one.

either way, this looks like a great concept. I really dig the style BA.
Finally, a show full of truthiness.

i think it's more about him vs something. not nothing, and not a wall of obstacles. but rather one pain in the ass after another.

LIfe is one damn thing after another right?

Have both, have a lot of nothingness with all the scary stuff outside, you can just have the nothing fade into the scary.

Tool, yeah what's with those smart Peanuts kids? I know I was an idiot at that age. That's where most of the fun of being a kid lies. I loved being an idiot and you totally get away with it as a kid.
